Project Summary: Our Community is rich in culture and potential; this project will help heal SouthWest Fresno from the Inside Out.
Details: Inside out Community Garden is a collaborative project made possible by California Climate Investment funds and the Strategic Growth Council. Inside Out Community Garden is located at Sunset Community center in Southwest Fresno. Inside Out Community Garden is a project that will bring beauty to the community, lower greenhouse gas emissions by planting drought-resistant and edible foliage. Inside Out Community Garden’s mission is to heal disparaging communities from the inside out. We believe that food is the universal love language that can reach past color lines and improve the community holistically. The objective is to heal through education, community participation, and building healthy eating habits while combating food injustice. Inside out has partnered with the City of Fresno and Fresno EOC by planting drought-resistant, edible foliage. It is Inside Out Community Garden’s desire to break generational stigmas about growing food and affecting change socially and mentally from the Inside Out.
